Alberta Government Children in Care
During their time in care, children are provided with very similar services, supports, supervision and guidance that are typical for children in Alberta. Whether through their caseworker, caregiver or community programs, and based on their age and specific needs, children in care can receive:

Offers free music lessons for children 6 to 12 years old in a safe environment. Musical instruments will be provided at no cost.

Legacy Children’s Foundation – Alberta
Gift of Music Program Providing experiences that enrich the lives of financially challenged and otherwise ‘at risk’ children, youth and families, giving them opportunities to experience success, improve their self esteem and build confidence, are issues that have become critical for children in Alberta’s turbulent economy.
Music Lessons The Dr. Stanley G. Finn “Gift of Music” Fund assists financially challenged children and youth in becoming involved in opportunities to take part in music experiences by providing them with financial support to cover the cost of music lessons and other music program involvement
Musical Instrument Bank Established to provide musical instruments for loan or permanent ownership to children and youth who without this assistance would not be able to take part in this type of potentially life enhancing musical experience.
School of Alberta Ballet
There are various funding bodies that provide financial support in means of grants and scholarships for families who have children participating in Dance or in financial need in general. Some of these are eligible for Summer programs as well as Full Year.
Southern Alberta Art Gallery
Believes every child should have access to art and in an effort to eliminate financial barriers, SAAG is excited to introduce the Encouraging Creative Minds Bursary. The bursary is designed to assist families who are unable to pay the full fees for our children’s programs: Art Club, Tender Fingers and Art In Media. SAAG is able to offer this bursary through the generosity and support of our members, sponsors and friends. All bursary applications and requests for information are kept private. Bursaries will be granted to those applicants who demonstrate the greatest need and are only available while funds last
