Please be advised that due to overwhelming demand, we have had to change the location of our upcoming Train the Trainer opportunity! Train the Trainer will now be held at The Bennett Centre located at 9703-94 Street in Edmonton. Please mark your calendars with this important change. Lunch will be included in the training, please let our office know if you have any dietary restrictions we should be aware of.
Alberta Children’s Services adopted FCS to help staff and caregivers understand and support the strengths and developmental needs of children and youth, as well as understand the impact trauma, loss and grief have had on them and their families. The train the trainer session will equip trainers to train their own agency staff and caregivers. FCS is a set of five educational models to provide introductory training to caregiver. The modules are: brain development; child development; the impact of trauma; understanding loss and grief; and healing and resilience for Indigenous Peoples and communities. FCS training aims to shift thinking from “what is wrong with this child?” to a more trauma-informed, “what has happened to this child?” View Training Module Registration Here
